Study of endolhelminthes of some fishes caught in Komurhan region of Karakaya Dam Lake

This study was carried out on a total of 513 fish; 128 Acanthobrama marmid Heckel, 1843, 121 Cyprinus carpio carpio Linnaeus, 1758, 126 Capoeta trutta (Heckel, 1843), 138 Alburnus mossulensis Heckel, 1843 caught in Kömürhan Region of Karakaya Dam Lake between July 2010 and June 2011.Four parasite species were encountered in 399 infested fish. After autopsy, 3 parasite species, Ligula intestinalis, Neoechinorhynchus rutili and Diplostomum sp. were found in body cavity, intestine and eyes of Acanthobrama marmid respectively. Khawia sinensis and Diplostomum sp were found in intestine and in eyes of Cyprinus carpio carpio respectively. Again, Neoechinorhynchus rutili and Diplostomum sp. were found in intestine and in eyes ofCapoeta trutta respectively. Neoechinorhynchus rutili and Diplostomum sp. were also found in intestine and in eyes Alburnus mossulensis respectivelyParasitologic examination showed that 119 out of 121 Acanthobrama marmid were infested with Diplostomum sp., 3 with Neoechinorhynchus rutili and 6 with Ligula intestinalis.A total of 3029 Diplostomum sp. were counted in Acanthobrama marmid; intensity, prevalence and abundance of that were 27.05, 0.93 and 23.66 respectively. Total 4 Neoechinorhynchus rutili were found in Acanthobrama marmid; intensity, prevalence and abundance of that were 1.33, 0.05 and 0.03 respectively. 23 Ligula intestinalis were detected in Acanthobrama marmid; intensity, prevalence and abundance of that were 3.83, 0.05 and 0.18 respectively. A total of 1159 Diplostomum sp. were found in 92 infested Cyprinus carpio carpio; intensity, prevalence and abundance of that were 0.99, 0.77 and 0.76 respectively. 13 Khawia sinensis were found in 7 infested Cyprinus carpio carpio, intensity; prevalence and abundance of that were 0.07, 0.76 and 0.58 respectively. Total 995 Diplostomum sp. were found in 82 infested Capoeta trutta; intensity, prevalence and abundance of that were 11.65, 0.65 and 7.58 respectively. 3958 Neoechinorhynchus rutili were counted in 106 infested Capoeta trutta; intensity, prevalence and abundance of that were 41.23, 0.76 and 31.41 respectively. 119 Diplostomum sp. were in 64 infested Alburnus mossulensis; intensity, prevalence and abundance of that were 2.95, 0.47 and 1.39 respectively. Finally, 2 Neoechinorhynchus rutili were detected in 2 infested Alburnus mossulensis; intensity, prevalence and abundance of that were 0.01and 0,01 respectively.Keywords: Karakaya Dam Lake, Fish, Parasites, Endohelminths.
