Abstract (EN)

Two different studies have been conducted within the scope of this master's thesis. The primary purpose of the first study is to adapt the Career Maturity Inventory and the Career Story Interview Form into Turkish. The second study, was aimed to examine the effect of the Career Story Interview Form on the career maturity level of secondary school students. In the first study, the validity and reliability of the measurement tool on the sample were examined in order to adapt the Career Maturity Inventory (CME) to Turkish. Two samples were studied. The first sample consists of 255 secondary education students who continue their education in the district of Şehitkamil in Gaziantep province in the 2019-2020 academic year. It was observed that the confirmatory factor analysis results carried out in the sample supported the four-dimensional structure. Findings obtained as a result of the study showed that KOE could be used to measure career maturity levels of secondary school students in a valid and reliable way. The second sample consists of 135 secondary school students attending different school types in Gaziantep city Şehitkamil district. In the second study, in order to examine the effectiveness of the Career Story Interview Form, 22 participants who were determined to have the lowest career maturity score in the second sample of the first study were randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups. The 2-session Career Story Interview Form, which was adapted into Turkish by the researcher, was applied to the participants in the experimental group. No activity was applied to the control group. The interview form was applied for a total of two weeks as a session every week. The duration of each program ranged from 60 to 75 minutes. In order to test the effectiveness of the Career Story Interview Form, a pre-test with the experimental-control group and a factorial ANOVA model with post-test measurement was used. CME was used to evaluate the career maturity levels of individuals the in pre-test, post-test and follow-up tests. The findings of the second study showed that the Career Story Interview Form (CSIF) is an effective intervention method in increasing the career maturity levels of secondary school students.
