Effects of career planning and career life stages in workplace: A case study of Turkish foundation universities

Career is a roadmap that has a starting point with no end. An individual with career goals should take career planning and career work stages seriously at all times. An individual with career goals should integrate her education and experience, should take individuals around herself as examples, and be innovative in order to be successful at work. In this paper, career, career planning and career work stages were examined. With the questions prepared, the main goal of the study was to examine senior managers' work life, work experiences and career success at few Turkish Foundation Universities. The objective of this paper is to teach individuals of the benefits of working in education sector to themselves. Factors that contribute to a successful career and factors that need to be careful about were defined in this paper. As a result; opportunities provided by the companies to their staff in order for them to have a successful career are defined and the question asking about what can be done is answered. The paper also defines what skills an individuals add to herself in order to have a successful career.
