The Comparison of Acquiring Citizenship Accordingto Turkish and Kazak Laws, Masters Thesis, Ankara 2008.The thesis analyses acquisition of the citizenship according to Turkishand Kazak Laws considering the latest developments in the citizenship laws.It comprises two sections.In the first section, the definition of citizenship is analyzed. Theconceptual frameworks, the meaning, the ways to acquire the citizenship areanalyzed, and the historical developments are considered. The first sectionalso specifies the development of Kazak citizenship law from Kazak KhanPeriod until Soviet period, and up to the independence period.The second section comparatively analyses the case regardingacquiring citizenship as a result of the birth and as a result of other casesexcept the birth. The conditions on acquiring the citizenship according toTurkish and Kazak Laws, the exceptions on acquiring citizenship, the ways toacquire citizenship, the acquisition of citizenship by adoption, by marriage,and the acquisition of the citizenship by means of right choice are analyzed.It is important to study the bases of acquiring the citizenship accordingto Turkish and Kazak Laws, and this study will benefit us by comparativelyanalyzing the legal systems. The other purpose of the thesis is to analyzeharmonization of different legal regulation and the detailed application of thecitizenship law.
