Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the middle ear functions of individuals who have TM perforation because of COM and who were applied fascia or cartilaj graft type 1 tympanoplasty; with multifrequency, multicompanent typanometry, determine the affect of resonance frequency (RF) for tympanoplasty on middle ear, and compare the measurement results on fascia, cartilaj graft and control groups. Totally 62 (42 females, 20 males) subjects/ears who 35.51 avarage age were included in this study. The study group consisted of 23 (15 Fascia grafts, 8 cartilaj grafts) ears diagnosed with COM and underwent tympanoplasty operation. The control group consists of 39 healthy ears. Pure tone audiometry was studied according to air, bone pathway threshold, tympanometric parametrics and multifrequency multicompanent tympanometry RF and Vanhuyse model were applied in all ears participating in the study. There was not statistically significant difference between the groups for their static compliance, gradient, ear canal volume values (p> 0.05). TTP value shows statistically significant difference (p = 0.037; p <0.05) when cartilage, fascia and the control groups were compared. The RF value was 643.33±154.54 Hz in fascia graft, 520±312.68 Hz in cartilage graft 773.96±127.16 Hz in the control group and statistically significant difference was found between RF values of the fascia, cartilage graft and control groups (p=0,001;p<0.01). When the Vanhyse model was evaluated, 3B3G, 5B3G in most of the ears 1000 Hz in the study group, and 3B1G, 1B1G configuration in most of the control groups were obtained. A statistically significant difference was found between Vanhuyse model of the study and control groups (p=0.001;p<0.01). In conclusion, provide useful diagnostic information as a rapid and practical measurement tool for multifrequency multicompanent tympanometry in the investigation of the effects of repaired TM with a pathology of the middle ear and multifrequency, multifrequency tympanometry on middle ear dynamics.
