Abstract (EN)
Anatolia has hosted many cultures in the historical process. The civilizations that lived in the region passed this accumulation to the generations that came after them. Thus, a deep-rooted cultural heritage has been formed in Anatolia. This cultural heritage, which has shaped the moral norms of the society, has started to be shaped around the phenomenon of religion since the transition to Islam. The concepts of religion and culture have come together and formed social traditions. Thus, the unique religious music tradition of each region has emerged. Kastamonu is an important center that keeps this tradition alive in Anatolia. In Kastamonu, where religious values and traditions are at the forefront, the religious musical tradition also has an important place. With this study, it is aimed to reveal the existence of this tradition academically and to contribute to the development of the living religious music tradition. This research is a qualitative study using the culture analysis (ethnography) pattern. Interview and document analysis methods were used in the research. In addition, hymns performed in Kastamonu, which have not been recorded yet, were noted by a source person, and added to the work. The sample group of this research was selected using the snowball sampling method. The interview form was prepared by the researcher and the consultant, and the data obtained through the interviews were analyzed with content analysis. As a result of the analysis, it has been tried to reveal how the performance techniques and religious music tradition unique to Kastamonu are maintained, how the religious music life and religious music education in Kastamonu are given.
