Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to ascertain women's experiences and diffuculties in the city, to provide the view of a women-friendly city based on these experiences, and to define aspects of a women-friendly city in relation to urban participation. A pattern of descriptive phenomenology was used in the study's design. Semi-structured in-depth interviews were used to gather data on the "women-friendly city" phenomenon from 28 employed and unemployed women in the city of Isparta, varying in terms of education, socioeconomic standing, and marital status. A descriptive phenomenological method analysis was used to examine the data. The study's findings indicate that women's participation in urban space in Isparta is strongly influenced by the city's traditional cultural framework, and that the perception of a woman-friendly city is closely linked to the security factor. The report lists several aspects of women-friendly cities, including amenities that improve the quality of life, spaces designed to accommodate women's needs, and components that encourage involvement.
