Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACT MASTERS THESIS CONTROL OF ELECTRİC VEHICLES USING SLIDING MODE CONTROL AND FUZZY LOGIC Gonca OZMEN KOCA Fırat University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Electronic and Computer Education 2005, Page: 62 In this thesis, a robust speed controller is developed for a rear driven Electric Vehicle (EV) in which a brushless DC motor is used. First of all, The mathematical models of EV are derived for both acceleration and deceleration cases. The main objective of the thesis is to design a robust controller that provides stable, safe and high performance acceleration and deceleration for different road conditions and different speed references. For this aim, a speed controller for the EV is designed using the Reaching Law (RL) Control approach which is a technique to design Sliding Mode Control (SMC) systems and the application problems of this system is developed by using Fuzzy Logic (FL) and RL approach together. Simulation results showing the robustness of the purposed controller for different road conditions and different reference speed values are presented. Key words: Electric vehicle, robust velocity control, Fuzzy Logic, Reaching Law approach X
