In general, all the income resulting economic activities, which are not predictable by the known stastical methods and also not available in obtaining the GNP amount, are called informal (unregistered) economy. İnformal economic activities have got some properties. For instance, not moral activities, cash activities and not evaluate activities. Half registered economic activities, illegal economic activities and never registered economic activities are elements of informal economy. Half registered economic activities are very important for government because in this group activities are happened by registered economic activities. When the dimensions of informal economy are taken into attention, it is observed that that problem has been reached to dimensions that threaten all countries in the World. However, related with the dimensions of this problem, in developed countries, in transition countries and in less developed countries, many different studies have been made by different researchers and different methodologies. This study?s aim is to evaluate these different methodologies together and tried to find some general conclusions, in Turkey example. Because of this reason, dimensions of informal economy were analyzed based especially on Turkey example, and then Gaziantep?s ekonomy finally in Turkeys? ekonomy criteria. Economy on the basis of samples of Gaziantep, suggestions were the methods of dealing with the informal economy.
