Abstract (EN)
Multichannel seismic reflection data were collected in the Eastern Mediterranean in 2007. In this thesis, a part of seismic data consisting of Eastern Anaximander Mountains, Antalya Basin and Finike Basin were used for data proccessing and interpretation. Some special data proccessing methods related to salt tectonics were applied to data due to the complex geological structure of the area. Because of the Messinian salinity crysis, salt and evaporite structures exist in the area which are also evidenced by the seismic data. Multichannel seismic reflection data indicates thrust faults as a consequence of compressional tectonics. Interpretation of the seismic data revealed the existence of fold belts, basins and underwater mountains, which are defined using their geological situations, formation conditions, stratigraphic and tectonic elements.
