Abstract (EN)
Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controllers have been widely used inindustry and these constitute an important part of industrial control systems. So anydevelopment in PID design and implementation methodology is important forindustrial control systems.Because of rapidly increasing development in computer technology, computationalcomplexity of self-tuning control algorithm is not a limitation any more. Thissituation makes the self-tuning PID control an important alternative to conventionalPID control. In this thesis, self-tuning pole assignment PID control is presented. Experimentalimplementation is performed in laboratory. The results of the present research arecompared with that of obtained from conventional PID and some other PID controlmethods, thus the advantages and disadvantages of self-tuning PID control areemphasized. Keywords: Self-tuning control, PID control, pole assignment control.
