Urban noise pollution from road mapping in example of Adana/Turgut Ozal Boulevard

Preparation of action plans based on the results of the noise maps is of great importance in our country. Noise maps, especially in the natural resources of both the rapid process of urbanization is an important data for the city plans to improve the quality of life of city dwellers. Noise maps, planning, landscape architecture who work according to human desires and needs while preserving natural and cultural resources are an important planning data within the scope of disciplines. In this study, Adana Çukurova district on the busiest traffic with Turgut Ozal Boulevard and the boulevard 800 m was approximately 340 hectares covering the north and south of the survey area. Determining the noise pollution in the area of research and soundPLAN software is used for mapping. Exposed to noise pollution, population and current situation analysis of the scope of that data into the program will be used satellite image, determined by topographic maps and survey work and at designated points on the boulevard car counts and noise measurements are made. The history of the research area June 4, 2010 the Environmental Noise Assessment and Management was created borne noise maps of road according to Regulation principles, noise pollution areas were identified and prevention of noise towards those regions and / or mitigation proposals have been developed.
