This process has become the focus of sustainability discussions at times. When evaluated specifically for Turkey, it is seen that there is a rich experience in terms of industrial heritage. Buildings of different types in different cities have been preserved and refunctioned with various intervention approaches and design strategies. Based on this information, this study aims to examine the abandonment of Tersane Istanbul. This research also focuses on the reutilization of industrial heritage. In the final section of the relevant chapter, the architectural features of industrial structures are evaluated. In the second section, the concept of industrial heritage is examined in the context of urban identity, and concepts and practices related to its preservation are evaluated. The historical changes in coastal use are also discussed in this section.
