Effects of urban furniture on their spaces: The case of Duzce

Urban open spaces get value day by day owing to urbanization. Urban furnitures are important elements of urban open spaces. These objects have a lot of positive and negative effect on the place where they are. These furnitures have positive effects such as providing comfort and aesthetics and rendering significant enjoyable on the social life. An addition negative using and deficiency of furnitures present negative effects. Duzce has a lot of open spaces because of having urban parks, medical spaces and school gardens. There are a lot of investigation about planning, using and desinging of these spaces. Urban furnitures are also a part of these investigation. These furnitures can directs resarch because of effects functional semantic symbolical psychological. The effects of urban furnitures which are at urban area have been investigated in this thesis. So, at first urban furnitures and the effect of these furnitures on the places which have them have been explained. Additionally; the character, effects, requirement, deficiency of the furnitures which are in Duzce have been defined and essentially effects have been defined. As a conclusion, if they have effects, these effects have been proved. The effect that is between urban furnitures and spaces have been explained. The positive and negative effect of urban furniture found in spaces having different carasteristics have been proved.
