Evaluation of urban transport with international examples

The story of urbanization and transportation is ancient as humanity history. People has been establishing their habitats to river coasts, intersection points of roads, strategical points in terms of policy, cultural or martial and trading routes. Almost all of mnetioned points on the phase of urban settlement are directly or indirectly transportation elements. Transportation and urbanization get their position as one each driving power on the centre of conjugate and continuous relation of the social, economical, technical, martial, cultural and political disciplines on each other. Because of these the determination of transportation and urbanization policies affect the futures of countries, locations, urbans and regions in political, social, economical, cultural and security phases negatively or positively and directly. A rapidly urbanization has been experienced in Turkey since the establishment period of republic. But an accurate urbanization period could not be faced becase of the problems as infrastructural issues, planlessness, failing to provide balanced distribution, lack of integration and lack of coordination. Migration fact that especially has been faced by rural to urban and Anatolia to west side of the country has continued with high acceleration in all periods. This case is tried to change to beter with various studies. But existing case obliges long term and complex studies. By the effect of local administration reform on last period, urban population proportion has reached to 90%. But the accuracy of this percentage for reflecting the urbanity is a questionable issue. Subjected problems are continued to face on global level too. For realising the planing improvements, it is necessity to comperatively evaluation of samples from different geographies. In this sense, investigation of only European cities will not be sufficient. Detailed investigation of the dynamics of two developing countries as China and India that constitute important proportion of the world in terms of population and area is going to be indicated. On this context, the topography and the characteristics of the cities of Turkey especially the big cities as Istanbul, Ankara, İzmir, Bursa do not overlap one to one. Hence it is benficial to evaluate many various countries' cities that resemble to cities of Turkey in terms of different point of views.
