Abstract (EN)
In this study, for the first time, hydrogen generation rate was dynamically measured by transferring calculated amount of sodium borohydride solutions to maintain 1 or 2 normal liters of hydrogen generation per minute. Three different catalysis as iron, platinum and ruthenium were used in order to investigate the critical catalysis concentration, catalyst amount and rate relation and as well as the influence of the sodium borohydride concentration on the rate equations. On the other hand alloys were also investigated in the area of hydrogen generation. Therefore, ruthenium (Ru) and copper (Cu) binary alloys with various compositions were prepared by using "co-sputtering" technique. Cu in the alloys were selectively dealloyed and a channel like porous morphology was obtained. Catalyst morphology and chemical structure were characterized by SEM and EDX, respectively. Effect of sputtering time and power during alloying and acid concentration and dealloying time during dealloying processes on the hydrogen generation rate have been studied. Additionaly, long term performances of the catalytic activity have been investigated. At last but not least, catalyst free hydrogen generation has been studied by reacting chemical hydrides and various acids.
