The synthesis and the structure elucidation of novelthioureas derivedfrom chrial amines and the cyclization compounds

This research is composed of two parts. In the first part; a novel series of thiourea derivatives [1-15] were synthesized by the reaction of (S)-(+)-1-aminoindan, (R)-(-)-1-aminoindan, (S)-(-)-1-(1-naphthyl)ethylamine, (R)-(+)-1-(1-naphthyl)ethylamine, (1R,2R) or (1S,2S)-1-amino-2-benzyloxycyclopentane and phenyl, benzyl, 2-phenethyl isothiocyanates. In the second part; the synthesis of 2-imino-1,3-thiazolidine-4-dion derivatives [1a-6a] were cyclized by thiourea and oxalyl chloride in the presence of dicloromethane. The synthesis of 2-imino-1,3-thiazolidine-4-dion derivatives were composed by (S)-(-)-1-(1-naphthyl)ethylamine and (R)-(+)-1-(1-naphthyl)ethylamines. The purity were controlled by TLC and the chemical structures of the synthesized compounds were elucidated using IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, mass spectroscopy and elemental analysis.
