International jurisdiction in violation of personality right through the internet

The globalization that has emerged thanks to technology has caused the violations of personal rights to have an element of foreignness and to become connected with more than one country. Thus, the issue of from which country's court the victim whose personal rights are violated on the internet will seek legal protection has become an important problem. Because the direct application of current jurisdictional rules to disputes on the internet has led to different violations, as well as to the emergence of new legal problems. In addition, many internet-specific issues are ignored in the current jurisdictional rules. In this study, the question of when the Turkish courts will have international jurisdiction in case of violation of personal rights on the internet is handled by taking into account the internet-specific situations, reinterpretation of jurisdictional rules and all internet actors.
