The moderator role of demographic characteristic's on the effect of personal growth tendency and networking behavior on relational capital

In this research, relational capital and its predecessors, networking behavior and personal growth tendency are discussed. In order to determine the relational capital, which is considered as the dependent variable of the study, it is provided to reveal the author network map of the studies conducted in the field of Management and Organization and to reveal the relational capital of the authors in this network via social network analysis method. In this context, the apropriate frame of sampling has been determined as the author of papers which has been published in Management and Organization area, originated form Turkey and located at Scopus and Web of Science databases. The tags of the publications in the relevant databases between 1978 and 2018 were compiled and a total of 4773 publications were reached. Following the extraction of this data set, a questionnaire covering the independent variables of networking behavior and personal growth tendency was send to the 850 academicians selected by random stratification method within the sample frame formed as a result of social network analysis. According to the results of the analysis, which included 214 questionnaires, networking behavior and personal growth tendency had a positive and significant effect on relational capital. As a result of the analysis, it was found that some of the individual characteristics (title, experience, age, gender and city) have moderator effects on the relationship between networking behavior and relational capital. However, no finding has been obtained regarding the moderator effects of the study field and the education abroad. The individual feature that does not have a moderator effect between personal growth tendency and relational capital is experience. All the other individual characteristics have a moderator role in these relationships.
