Abstract (EN)

The fact that the attacks that can be carried out with conventional weapons with CBRN weapons, which are more dangerous than a point attack that can only be made to a certain area, are more effective, and the desire to create weapons of mass destruction with CBRN weapons has also attracted the attention of non-state actors, terrorists. In this study, the knowledge and skills of terrorists in line with their potential to use weapons of mass destruction were also examined. Bibliometric analyzes were made with the data obtained from the examination of the documents in the Web of Science database. When the studies on CBRN and terrorism were examined with the help of Microsoft Excel program and VOSviewer version 1.6.18 data analysis program, it was seen that 2009 was the year with the highest tendency to the subject with the number of 15 studies and 10,949 out of 137 studies. In 2003 and 2007, only 3 studies were followed with a rate of 2,190 in the years with the least employment. In the study, CBRN terrorism attacks were created as a table based on the Global Terrorism Database (GTD) between 1970-2019. When the GTD data results, which divided the world into 12 regions in terms of CBRN terrorism, were examined, it was determined that CBRN terrorism was most common in South Asia with 123 cases, and at least in Central America, Caribbean with 2 cases. In the research, a twoway mixed research structure using qualitative and quantitative data was used. New data have been created due to the literature review of academic studies, examining the academic dimension of the subject, as well as the analysis of the actions taken.
