Abstract (EN)

SMEs, which have a large share in the national economies, make very important contributions to the creation of employment, investment, productivity, development of entrepreneurship, regional development and the creation of a competitive environment. There are many factors that affect the performance of SMEs' financial access. The effect of SMEs' financial access on their financial performance was examined using the data of 50 SMEs traded on the BIST between 2013 and 2019. According to the findings obtained from the analysis, no significant relationship was found between the short-term debt ratio and their financial performance (return on equity and operating profit ratio) of SMEs. However, it was concluded that the effect on the return on assets was negative and statistically significant. There was a negative relationship between the long-term debt ratio and other performance indicators, and it was statistically significant in other performance models, except for the operating profit ratio model.
