Abstract (EN)
The congestion of the ports in the city because of unplanned development and the overcoming of the density due to increasing demand with temporary solutions mean that the problems for the logistics sector are becoming more serious ones. Today, in a world where strategic studies are carried out to dominate the transportation networks, notable economic investments are made, consumption is increasing and the supply chain has become very important, it is necessary to examine the transportation modes between the port facilities of Kocaeli, where is the busiest region of Turkey in terms of industry, port, maritime and logistics, and the ongoing Köseköy Logistics Village/Center combined transportation and ensure that their development is carried out in planned, having alternatives and working on long-terms Project way. Having examined maritime policies, maritime transportation strategies, port and port systems of the European Union and the United States of America, the integration of logistics centers and ports in the context of combined transportation were emphasized. By examining the examples of GVZ Bremen, Singapore and California, which are major logistics centers and ports on a world scale, logistic investments in Turkey and Kocaeli province and the general situation, problems and future goals of the ports were indicated. The researches as to freight traffic between Kocaeli ports and the logistics center, the need for an alternative mode of transportation and solution proposals were done by having face-to-face interviews with the sector stakeholders, and the suggestions that could be applied to the Kocaeli region were put forward in the light of the technological and environmental approaches that has come to the fore to be used worldwidely.
