Abstract (EN)
In times when the audiences trust some comedians more than journalists, taking Serge Moscovici's Social Representations Theory the present research tries to illuminate how is the social representation of Journalism created by comedy shows in the US. Specifically, the first season of the popular comedy show Last Week Tonight With John Oliver is analyzed with a qualitative and quantitative content analysis. This shows how the role of journalism and journalists is anchored and objectualized in the daily life of the liberal audience of the show in America but also in the rest of the world that watches it through YouTube.
