Abstract (EN)
The concepts of occupational health and safety (OHS) are sets of measures that drive us to take measures to protect us from occupational diseases, accidents or hazards in all areas of the working life. Risk analysis comes first among these measures. It is crucial to select and apply the method correctly when performing risk analysis. This study covers the application of two risk analysis methods, which are checklist (qualitative) and Fine-Kinney (quantitative), in the context of current legislation, in an academic unit of a state university located on the central campus. Besides the study focuses on the comparison of the results in point of the significant differences and similarities between the two methods, providing information about which method is more efficient. In the application of risk analysis, which is the field research step, the fields to be assessed for the risk have been examined in detail. Employees were interviewed and exchanged opinions with them. Information on previous occupational accidents or occupational diseases has been taken and the measures taken have been reconsidered. In light of collected data, the Risk Assessment Regulation, the OHS law No. 6331 and other regulations, statements, etc., which are governing this law risk assessments have been taken into account by utilizing resources and applying two different risk analysis methods. In the risk analysis conducted by the Fine-Kinney method, 99 risks were identified in 9 different departments in the working area, 6 of them were identified as "Untolarable Risk" and 7 were "Fundamental Risk". It has been revealed that these risks can be eliminated after the regulatory and preventive action (RPA). In addition, 101 questions were asked for 7 sections in the risk assessment carried out according to the checklist method, 77 of which were answered as "No". RPA have been determined for 94 hazards and it has been observed that these risks can be reduced with the measures to be taken. As a result of the risk analysis performed using the Fine-Kinney method, it has been observed that the risk values for which precautions are to be taken turn into possible and insignificant risks as a result of RPA. Likewise, for the Checklist method, standard and general control questions and questions regarding the existing risks in the field were prepared, RPA was applied in the same way and it was seen that the risks could be prevented.
