Abstract (EN)
Controlled polymerization techniques were used for the adjustment of the final product properties as desired, such as thermal, mechanical, optical peoperties etc. That are depending on the length of polymer chains, was molecular weight and polydispertiy. In this study, bentonite choosen as the inorganic matrix. ( 3-trimethoxysilyl) prophylmethacrylate (A-174) monomer covalently linked to bentonite and organophilic bentonite by using the sol-gel method. Methacrylate functional end group of the monomer was polymerised by the classical radical polymerization methods and Reversible Addition- Fragmentation Chain Transfer polymerization (RAFT) method. Thermal and strustural properties were investigated and compared in terms of the classical polymerization method and RAFT method. The monomer of polymer in the final composite material that is using organophilic bentonite are much more than non-organophilic bentonite was found. In both cases amount of bounding with A-174 to bentonite was found via hidroxy groups of bentonite. It was found that thermal properties of final composite materials, especially glass transition temperatuare by prepared RAFT methods was better than conventional radicalic polymerization methods.Key Words: Controlled Polymerization, RAFT, Bentonite, Composite Material.
