Abstract (EN)
Air quality is a concept that considers people as a fundamental part of their environment and recipient of environmental impacts. Industrialization and the rapid growth of cities intensify the levels of consumption of energy resources, causing a natural imbalance and environmental unsustainability. High levels of air pollution can negatively impact human health and severely affect ecosystems. It is necessary to generate policies that reduce the environmental impact of our activities, which is why it is important to have information and data on air quality on an ongoing basis. Because fixed monitoring stations only provide information on a set point and it is economically impossible to have a large number of stations, geographic information systems and geostatistical analysis allow the status of air quality to be determined and evaluated over time and space. In this study, the temporal and spatial modelling of the concentrations of particulate matter in the Kosova neighbourhood in the province of Konya was carried out using the Krigging geostatistical model of the ARCGIS 10.5 program. PM measurements were performed using the PCE-PCO1 particle counter. PM measurements were carried out at 5 different times of the day for 4 days (2 days on weekdays and 2 days on weekends) in June, October and January. According to the results obtained, the average daily concentrations are outside the permissible limit of 40mg/m established by Turkey. Regarding the average air quality, it was determined that it is in the medium category, which has no impact on people's health, however it can be dangerous for people with respiratory problems. The factors affecting the air quality in the Kosovo neighbourhood are estimated as fuel used for heating and fuel emissions from traffic, pollutants from construction and ground.
