Abstract (EN)

Bridges are important structures that have been made to make transportation network faster and easier. In recent years, studies about heavily damaged or destroyed bridges, revaeled that most of the damage caused than scour events that consisting by floods. During floods the base materials around the abutment or pier transportations consists scour. The results of scours are the bridge feets stability reduces and the feet becoming unable to carry the bridge and the bridge destroyes. To solve this problem; take measures againts bed scours and determination of the feet type most appropriate to the regime of the river. Because of the river regime to prevent base scours the base must be made deep enough. Thus obstructs scours on the bottom of the base. But estimating the maximum scours with the current flow and conditions in the building is important to know how deep it will be built. In rivers, especially because of secondary flow in meandering channel are exposed to scour bridge feets. In this study, throughout a meandering channel the local scours around the bridge feets and the scours into the bridge feet shapes has been investigated. İn addition, by changing the water depth and the discharge the effect of scour on of thew was investigated. The length of abutment of the bridge has a direct effect on the depth of scour. Studies have been made in the literatüre on this subject, however, there is not a lot of work about change of the bridge abutment and depth throughout meandering channel. In this study, conducted a series of experiments about clean water scours throughout a meandering channel on the inner and outer coasts 30º, 60º, 90º, 120º and 150º angels of bridges side foot and with changing flow. The maximum scour depths were measured for each abutment between 12-18 hours. By drawing the graphs of maximum scour depths has been interpreted. The topografy of the base along the channel also interpreted. The first chapter includes scour events, second chapter includes meandering channel, third chapter includes scours on the bridge feets, fourth chapter includes summary of the literatüre and equations for bridge feets scours, fifth chapter includes experimental works and the sixth chapter includes experimental results. With this study, it is intended to correct the deficiency in the literature about bridge abutment scours in meandering channels.
