The content analysis of web pages for preventing suicide in terms of protective

This study was conducted as a descriptive study for the content analysis of web pages including suicide prevention and help pages in the context of preventive psychiatry. The universe and sample of the study consisted of 147 web pages with links to the most widely used international social media platforms and web pages in the world to prevent suicide. In order to conduct the scope analysis, the data collection form created by the researcher used the crisis line guide prepared by the World Health Organization to prevent suicide and the guide prepared for the media professionals. SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) 20.0 program was used for data analysis. Descriptive analysis methods were used for data analysis. As a result of the research, it was determined that the majority of the websites (51.7%) were of European origin, prepared by mental health and suicide prevention associations (85%), suicide prevention (48.0%) and crisis intervention (26%). In the majority of the website (69.5%), volunteers were trained and offered counseling online and over the phone. While 28.9% of the web pages included information about suicide, self-help needs were 14.7%. The most commonly used method of contacting consultants via the website was 96.6% telephone assistance. The majority of websites (76.2%) had social media links, and "Facebook" was the most linked social media site. It was seen in user comments that some of the web pages did not update their content and did not renew their contact information and therefore there were difficulties in providing communication. In line with the findings obtained from the research, suggestions were made on the scope, content and sustainability of the web page to prevent crisis intervention and suicide to be prepared at national and international level.
