Abstract (EN)
Koyunbaba Dam is a water storage facility located in Şabanözü town of Çankırı city, Türkiye. The dam serves as a source of water supply for irrigation, domestic, and industrial purposes. The dam's water resource potential is subject to various factors such as climate change, land use changes, and other anthropogenic activities. In order to ensure the optimal utilization of water resources, it is necessary to develop a reliable hydrological model that can accurately predict the dam's water availability and guide water management decisions. In this study, ArcGIS and HEC-HMS were used to develop a hydrological model for Koyunbaba Dam. The first step involved collecting and analyzing data on the catchment area of the dam, including topographic data, land use maps and hydrological data. The collected data was then used to create a digital elevation model (DEM) using ArcGIS. The next step involved calibration and validation of the HEC-HMS model using historical hydrological data. The calibrated model was used to simulate the water resource potential of the dam under different climate scenarios such as drought and flood. Peak time, flow rate and volume values are given as a result of the simulation. Keywords: Hydrological Modeling, HEC-HMS Software Simulation,Model calibration, ArcGIS, Water resource.
