Abstract (EN)
In this study, fatty acid compositions of vegetable oils for cosmetic purpose were analyzed. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of fatty acids in vegetable oils were made by using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). In the analysis, oils of avocado, jojoba, grape seed and appricot seed supplied from herbalist and baobab oil obtained from a cosmetic factory were used. After the oils were converted the methyl ester with KOH hidrolysis, these were derivatizated by MeOH/BF3. Just after the derivatization process the oils were analyzed by GC-MS. In conclusion, it was determined that oleic acid ratio (18:1) of avocado, appricot seed, baobab oils; linoleic acid ratio (18:2) of grape seed oil,eicosanoic acid ratio (20:0) of jojoba oil were rich. Further more olive oil and sunflower oil were also analyzed and results of this analysis were compared to sample oils result. The similarity between fatty acid profiles of avocado oil and olive oil and also the similarity grape seed oil sunflower oil were determined. According to the result of the analysis it was also obtained that these oil samples were rich in monounsature (oleic acid) and ?-3, ?-6 fatty acids which were used for many skin problems.
