A review of the impact of cryptocurrencies on financial consumers: The case of Nevşehir province

Today, the use of crypto money is becoming more and more widespread in the world and especially in our country. In the research, it is tried to measure whether cryptocurrencies have an effect on financial consumers while making financial decisions. In the study, the socio-demographic characteristics, financial profiles and behavioral tendencies of the investors in Nevşehir, which was taken as a sample, were evaluated. A questionnaire was used as a data collection tool in the study. For this purpose, a questionnaire study was conducted on 430 people with the form prepared in the internet environment in Nevşehir province. The survey study consists of three parts. The survey questions were prepared by adapting them to the crypto money industry. SPSS 22 software system is used for data analysis in the study. Obtained results were compared using appropriate statistical tests. When the results of the survey applied with social media applications over the internet are analyzed; reliability test (cronbach's alpha value), chi-square test to determine whether the difference between observed and expected frequencies is significant, variance, which is a collection of statistical models used to analyze group means and processes related to them (such as within-group and between-group variation). analysis, and finally, the independent sample t test, which is used to test whether there is a statistically significant difference between the two independent groups by looking at the averages, was applied. Our study is composed of four parts, and in the first part, the concepts of consumer and financial consumer are emphasized. In the second part, the concepts of money and crypto money are explained. In the third part, information about crypto money in the world and in Turkey is given. In the last part, the analysis study of the research was carried out. As a result of the study, it is concluded that cryptocurrencies have an effect on financial consumers in Nevşehir and they take this into account when making investment decisions. As a result, it is seen that the majority of those who invest in crypto money in Nevşehir are public employees, and they are in the forefront of their desire to protect the capital and expect high income when investing.
