The research on the effect of fascial treatment on the patients with chronic back pain

The study has been planned with the aim of searching effect of the fascial mobilization method on the chronic back pain diagnosed patients who have not got neurologic deficity. 55 patients who are diagnosed as chronic back pain have attended to the study. The patients have been divided into 2 groups randomly. In addition to the conventional physiotherapy (vacuum interferance, micro wave diathermy, hot pack,exercise), 5 level fascial mobilization treatment have been applied to the experimental group. To the control group, only the conventional physiotherapy have been applied. Classic back exercise programme has been applied both of the groups. All the patients have been evoluated before the study as regards of pain (VAS), flexibility, kinesiophobia (tampa kinesiophobia scale), functional level (oswesty back pain questionnaire). The patients have been evaluated both one day before the study and last day of the treatment. When the sort term effect of the treatment has been evaluated, the pain point (VAS) has been observed positively for the experimental group (p<0.05). In the flexibilty evaluation test (sit-lie test), there has not been a meaningful difference whereas there has been observed positively and meaningfully differences for the experimental group in the modified schober test (p<0.05). when it has been observed as regards of kinesiophobia and functional level results, there has been no meaningful difference. It has been observed that for the patients who have chronical back pain, the fascial mobilization method is more effective than the classic phsyotherapy treatment as regards of pain and flexibility. Howewer, in much longer terms, it has been thought to combine fascial mobilization method with more holistic treatments as regards of flexibility, endurance and functional level.
