The relationship of chemerin with vitamin D and lipid profile in chronic liver disease

Chronic Liver disease is a chronic, progressive and life-threatening disease. It has been found that the incidence of vitamin D deficiency is increased in patients with hepatitis C, hepatitis B and Non alcohol fatty liver diasese (NAFLD). Our study aims to show the relationship between stage complications of liver patients and chemerin and vitamin D levels in patients with the process. Our aim in this study is to investigate the difference between disease progression and chemerin levels in patients with proven NAFLD, Hepatitis B Virus and Hepatitis C Virus. In this study, which was conducted between November 2020 and January 2021, the sample collection of adult patients admitted to AL-Hussein medical city chronic liver diseases was included in the study. The number of samples was taken as 100. 70 patients with complete data were included in the study from the hospital information system and necessary laboratory tests were performed. Sociodemographic characteristics, chronic diseases, chemerin and vitamin D levels and lipid parameters of the patients were determined. The obtained data were analyzed with the Statistical Package for Social Sciences SPSS 22 version program. P <0.05 was considered statistically significant. In our study, we found high serum chemerin levels in patients with chronic liver disease. There is no significant difference in chemerin levels when compared with patient groups according to etiology.
