Abstract (EN)

The concepts of tebşîr (giving good news) and its related terms tefâul (good omen) and tetayyur (bad omen) are significant topics addressed in the Qur'an. Understanding these concepts, their meanings in the Qur'an, and examples from the lives of past communities is important as they directly affect people's daily lives and influence the behavior of Muslims in society. This study aims to explore the uses of the concepts of tebşîr and its antonyms teşâum and tetayyur in the Qur'an, their narratives in Qur'anic stories, and how Muslims can benefit from these examples. Descriptive, analytical, and comparative methods were used in the research. While defining the concepts of tebşîr and tetayyur, their antonyms were also utilized, and the Qur'anic stories where these concepts appear were identified and compared with the interpretations of scholars. This research is divided into three main sections: Firstly, the lexical and terminological meanings of the concepts of tebşîr and tetayyur in the Qur'an, along with their antonyms. Secondly, the identification and interpretation of the verses in the Qur'an that express tebşîr. Thirdly, the identification and interpretation of the verses in the Qur'an that express tetayyur. The meanings of the words expressing good and bad omens in the Qur'an were provided, and their general and specific forms were illustrated with examples from Qur'anic stories. Additionally, the causes of these omens mentioned in the Qur'an and the methods to deal with them were examined. It was determined that understanding these concepts is effective in organizing the daily lives of Muslims today, and the necessity of creating an agenda on this topic was emphasized.
