Abstract (EN)

This thesis examines the concept of īmān (faith) as presented in the Qur'ān through a multidimensional analysis grounded in classical lexical sources, major exegetical works, and contextual interpretation of relevant verses. Rather than treating īmān as a merely abstract or theological term, the study explores its theoretical foundations by analyzing its Qur'ānic usage, semantic depth, and the diversity of commentary in the tafsir tradition. In this context, īmān is understood not only as an inner affirmation of the heart but also, based on its etymology, as both giving and receiving trust. Accordingly, it is evaluated as a comprehensive awareness of belief encompassing individual responsibility, ethical orientation, and social impact. The distinctive contribution of this research lies in its focus on the preservation of faith. The concept of īmān is examined contextually in accordance with Qur'ānic principles, and the study develops both theoretical insights and practical approaches for its maintenance. It also addresses contemporary challenges that weaken faith sensitivity and reflects on how īmān can be preserved today. By doing so, the thesis aims to raise awareness about the continuity of faith and offer a modest contribution to the broader field of Islamic thought.
