Abstract (EN)

By utilizing content analysis and framing theory in combination, the main purpose of this thesis is to reveal the approach of the selected newspapers toward its causes, consequences, solutions and who is accountable of global climate change. In addition, it aims to evaluate the discovered approaches of the newspapers by given reference to environmental sociology theoretical frameworks. Between 2015-2019, the news of four newspapers published in Turkey including Hürriyet, Cumhuriyet, Sabah and Habertürk were scanned with the help of the key concepts of "Global climate change" and "Global warming" and these news analized in this study. One of the significant findings of this research is that the common message given in the news contents of the four newspapers, analyzed by utilizing framing theory and content analysis method, reflects that the climate change problem can be solved within the existing societal structures. For this reason, it has been concluded that the contents of the four newspaper news items reflect the ideas of the ecological modernization theory.
