Abstract (EN)
In recent years, the development of information and communication technologies has significantly influenced the communication processes of individuals and organisations. Consequently, the nature of corporate communication has been directly affected by these changes. The shift from one-way communication through mass media to two-way symmetrical communication facilitated by social media has been decisive in prompting organisations to adopt dialogic-based communication strategies with the public. In this context, organisations can initiate dialogic communication processes through their websites and social media channels. The dialogic public relations theory developed by Kent and Taylor has made it possible to measure dialogic communication within a specific set of principles. This theory encompasses not only technical elements but also dialogic elements such as dialogic loops and mutual interaction. This thesis aims to examine the dialogic communication effectiveness of RTÜK (Radio and Television Supreme Council), the regulation authority for radio and television broadcasting, through its official website and social media accounts. The objective is to determine the extent to which RTÜK employs dialogic communication principles in its public relations efforts and to evaluate the current practices in its communication processes with stakeholders. The findings of this study indicate that RTÜK's official website and social media accounts are primarily focused on providing information to the public but reveals certain deficiencies in fostering mutual interaction and dialogue. The findings and recommendations of this study are considered to provide RTÜK with a contemporary and pioneering perspective on its communication strategies, thereby enhancing its public relations effectiveness.
