Abstract (EN)
Moisture content of dead fine fuel is directly related to ignition. It is very important to determine how the amount of moisture in forest fuels in various sizes in the dead cover changes during the day, in terms of putting out the fire potential. Much of the work to date has been concerned with the determination of the moisture content of dead fuel, and the international study of the determination of the content of live fuel moisture is scarce. In this respect, this study is the first for our country. This study was carried out in Karacam and Kızılçam forests in Kastamonu Regional Directorate of Forestry, Karadere Forest Enterpirese and İstanbul Regional Directorate of Forestry Kanlıca Forest Enterprise. The purpose of this study is to determine how the change of humidity in the dead bedding that forest fires begin to change due to weather conditions. In other words, it is the modeling of the moisture content in dead fuel at the top of the dead cover and trees depending on the weather conditions. Within the scope of this study, dead litter (0-0,6 cm, 0,6-2,5 cm diameter materials) and samples from humus layer and top of crown of trees (live needle, shoot, 0-0,3 cm and thin branches of 0,3-0,6 cm diameter) were taken between 13: 00-14: 00 hours during the day. Examples of fuels were taken randomly to measure moisture content. Meteorological data were obtained from the mobile meteorological station (relative humidity, temperature, wind). The samples to be taken from the study area were weighed in the field and then brought to the laboratory to determine the owen dry weight. Moisture contents were determined by evaluating the wet and dry weights of the samples. Meteorological data with dead and live fuel moisture content data were analyzed in the SPSS statistical program. Correlations and regression analyzes were carried out to determine the relationship between combustible fuel moisture content and meteorological data and to develop models. The results may be useful for all fire management applications in our country (eg planning controlled fires, fire hazard rates, fire potential and understanding of fire behavior).
