Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to compare the effects of l-carnitine supplementation with different smallsided games on psychophysiological and technical responses in soccer players. Sixteen amateur soccer players (age: 22.87 ± 4.18 years) participated in this study voluntarily. Before and after their mood states were assessed, while rating of perceived exertion and physical activity enjoyment scale were assessed during the small-sided games. 2vs2 small-sided games with the L-carnitine supplement showed higher psychophysiological and technical responses compared to the 2vs2 small-sided games without the L-carnitine supplement (p<0.05). Similarly, 4vs4 small-sided games with the L-carnitine supplement showed higher psychophysiological and technical responses compared to the 4vs4 smallsided games without the L-carnitine supplement (p<0.05). This study found that not only psychophysiological responses, but also technical responses are affected by using L-carnitine supplement in the small-sided soccer games. Key Words: Soccer, performance, small-sided games, rating of perceived exertion
