Estimation of some stand parameters using Landsat TM satellite imagine: A case study in Resadiye Forest Planning Unit

In this study, the characteristics of various stands and Landsat 7 satellite images of the sample areas taken from stands in the borders of Amasya Regional Directorate of Forestry, Niksar Forest Enterprise, Reşadiye Forest Planning Units the relationship between the statistics of the band brightness values is modeled by multiple regression analysis. 569 sample areas were used for modeling. Terrestrial measurement data of these sample areas and Landsat TM satellite images were used as a base. Band 1, Band 3, Band 4, Band 5 and Band 7 brightness values and SR53 and ASVI vegetation indices, link has been detected (R2=0.488, Syx = 3,639), (R2=0.525, Syx = 2,0509) for the independent variables of the center tree diameter of the basal area, respectively. Band 1, Band 3 and Band 4 brightness values and ARVI, MSVAI and NR vegetation indices, link has been detected (R2=0.409, Syx = 5,9043), (R2=0.479, Syx = 3,7959) were found in the independent variables of the basal area, respectively.Band 1, Band 5 and Band 7 brightness values and ND73 and ASVI vegetation indices, link has been detected (R2=0.367, Syx = 87,7536), (R2=0.446, Syx = 66,0039) were found in the independent variables of tree density, respectively . Band 1, Band 3 brightness and TM 4 and SR43, SR53, SR54, ND53, ND32, ND73, ASVI, MSAVI and NR vegetation indices, link has been detected (R2=0.453, Syx=63,3279), (R2=0.587, Syx=45,8345) for the independent variables of stand volume, respectively. It was found that the vegetation indices were better than band brightness values when comparing the results of predicting parameters and the models related to these has been detected
