Abstract (EN)

It was aimed in this study to determine the information and training needs of the patients after the operation of Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy. The mean age of the patients was 51.89±15.32 years. The study was conducted with 116 patients, 41 of whom were male and 75 of whom were female. In accordance with the purpose of this study, the Scale of Patient Learning Needs was applied to the patients. Cronbach alpha coefficient of the Scale of Patient Learning Needs was calculated as 0.982. While it was observed that the mean score of the total scale was 211.20±32.00, it was found that the subscale dimensions changed between 19.90±4.30 and 38.80±5.70. The difference between the variables of gender, marital status, educational status, age, working status, type of case, presence of chronic disease, and getting discharge training and the mean scores that the patients obtained from the PLNS was not statistically significant (p> 0.05). The difference between the variable of the patients' getting information about the surgery and the mean score that they obtained from PLNS was found statistically significant (p <0.05). As a result, the educational needs of the patients participating in the study were found to be high. It was suggested that it would be beneficial to inform the patients who would undergo laparoscopic cholecystectomy before surgery about the surgical methods.
