Abstract (EN)

Sevgili Arsız Ölüm, published in 1983, is Latife Tekin's first novel. With this work, Latife Tekin combined her understanding of realism with local and traditional elements, and she gave the first examples of magical realism. The author, who stands out with his poetic style, frequently benefited from the written and oral tradition of Turkish literature. In this study, it is aimed to determine the antecedent, sequent, and syntactic grading elements in Latife Tekin's novel "Sevgili Arsız Ölüm". Ranking is a meaning relationship based on the comparison of at least two elements. This semantic relationship can be established with the antecedent and sequent language units as well as with the help of syntactic elements. Without any antecedent or sequent, a grading relationship can also be established with syntax preference, inference, deduction, deep structure, language unit repetitions, etc. The grading may be progressive or non-stage, regular ascending-descending state, or irregular. The aim of the study is to show the grading relations between words, phrases, sentences, or larger units in Turkish with examples and to reveal the contributions of the antecedent and sequent language units and syntactic elements in the grading relationship. The gradation relationship can be a stylistic feature for the narrator, depending on the place of use, frequency and how it is used. In fact, this relationship of meaning can become an author's style. The thesis also aims to reveal the contributions of the rating elements to the style.
