Satisfaction level of the tourists walking the Lycian Way

The Lycian Way, which is the first marked trail of Turkey, is a cultural route that allows seeing natural, cultural and historical values together. The research is concerned with the examination of the qualities of the tourists walking the Lycian Way and their opinions on the Lycian Way. In this direction, the main aim of the study is to determine the satisfaction levels of Lycian Way hikers about the facilities of the stagesthey have walked. In addition, finding out the intentions of the individuals to visit a cultural route and their reasons for preferring the Lycian Way constitute the sub-aims of the study. In this contex, a questionnaire was prepared to be applied to the hikers. The descriptive research model was used in quantitative terms and 416 hikers were identified by easy sampling method. Research data were obtained by survey technieque. According to the data obtained from the questionnaires, it was concluded that the majority of the hikers were the ages of 40 and older, they were single and they had undergraduate level of education. Lycian Way hikers who aim to be intertwined with nature prefer to stay in a tent with their friends. With the analysis conducted for level of satisfaction, it was concluded that the participants were generally satisfied with their walks and their expectations were met. In addition, it was found that the participants had a positive tendency to re-visit the Lycian Way and to recommend to friends and family. In the light of the findings of the research, some recommendations were presented to local administrators, local people, enterprises and the researchers who will work in this field in the future.
