Evaluation of licensed warehouse in terms of farmers: Şanliurfa province case

Abstract (EN)

Primary data of this research for the evaluation of licensed storage activity in Turkey for farmers; Sanliurfa Province was obtained from 140 agricultural enterprises in Akçakale, Ceylanpinar and Siverek districts by survey in 2020. Within the scope of the study, the enterprises; social, technical and economic characteristics, agricultural activity results and information about the levels of use of the licensed storage system have been obtained. According to the research findings; The family width of the operators is 2 times higher than the average in Turkey (8.9 people). The education levels and agricultural loan utilization rates of these enterprises are below the average in Turkey. The average land size of the enterprises is 544.6% and 81.5% of this is ignition and the property land ratio (77.5%) increases depending on the operating size. The rate at which businesses benefit from licensed warehouses is 0.4%. This rate is below the average in Turkey. The rate of use of the licensed warehouse is quite low, the people operating in the enterprises do not know about the system, therefore they do not trust the system, the concern that the product price given to the licensed warehouse is not taken in a timely manner, the product price cannot risk falling and the loan interest is high. In addition, factors such as non-agricultural income assets, state support and tractor ownership affect the willingness of enterprises to give products to the licensed warehouse.
