Investigate the relationship between childhood traumatic experience of high school students and the anger expression styles, self-esteem, life satisfaction

The aim of the study was to investigate the relationship between childhood traumatic experiences of high school students with anger expression styles, self esteem and life satisfaction.The research was carried out with 450 students attending 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades. The data of childhood traumatic experience was collected by means of ?Childhood Traumatic Experince Scale?, the data of anger expression styles was collected by means of ?Trait Anger and Anger Styles Scale?, the data of life satisfaction was collected ?Life Satisfaction Scale?, the data of self esteem was collected by means of ?Rosenberg?s Slef Esteem Scale? and the data of personal characteristics was collected by means of ?Personal Information Form? prepared by researcher. One Way Anova Analysis and Pearson Product Moments Correlation coefficient were used for statistical analyses.According to study male students had higher emotional and sexual abuse scores than female students. No difference was observed between male and female students scores of physical abuse. The adolescent with the past physical, emotional and sexual abuse experience compared to the ones with no such experience were found trait anger, anger in, anger out subscale high scores; anger control subscale low scores. Finally the adolescent with the past childhood traumatic experince (physical, emotional, sexual) compared to the ones with no such an experience were found low life satisfaction and self esteem scores.The result of this research indicate that past in the childhood traumatic experiences affects during adolescent, their anger expression styles, self-esteem and life satisfaction negatively.Keyword: Adolescents, Childhood Traumatic Experience, Anger Expression Styles, Self esteem, Life Satisfaction,
