Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to examine the relationship between digital game addiction and psychological factors in high school students. The study was applied to 502 volunteer students studying in Science, Anatolian, Imam Hatip, Sports and Vocational high schools on the internet using Google form, and the analysis was evaluated on 345 people due to incomplete and erroneous data. "Digital Game Addiction Awareness Scale", "Emotion Regulation Questionnaire" and "Short Psychological Resilience Scale" were applied to the students. As a result of the data obtained from the research, it was revealed that boys play games longer than girls, however there is no significant difference between boys and girls in terms of playing time, and there is no significant difference between high schools in terms of playing time, digital game addiction and SPRS. It was revealed that there was a significant difference between high schools only in terms of Cognitive Reappraisal and Suppression, which are subscales of the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (p<0.005). As a result, in our study it is thought that the reason why the screen generation does not differ according to age, education type and/or level and gender is because the new generation consists of digital natives. Keywords: Digital Game Addiction, Emotion, Game, Student, Psychological Resilience
