Investigation of mobile device among high school students

Mobile devices that have become the focal point of our lives with the advancement of technology in every part of the society have moved to the mobile dependency level by targeting the youthful spiritual health. The threat posed by mobile device dependency, which has become the biggest problem of the modern era, has reached alarming dimensions. In this study, it is aimed to determine the mobile phone usage habits and mobile device dependency levels of Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School students to investigate the social and social activities of the new generation consciously or unwittingly neglecting their social experiences and their daily activities due to mobile devices, The aim of this study was to investigate Data were collected by pre-testing the students about the habits of mobile device usage. "Mobile Device Addiction" seminar was given to 10th and 11th grade students who were selected as experimental group afterwards. In the seminar, the students were given the opportunity to inquire about their mobile usage habits by informing the mobile devices about the time they spent during the day, how they used the mobile devices most for what purpose, and how the dependent categories could get rid of them. In this study, mobile device dependency levels of 240 students studying at 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade in Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School were applied to the questionnaire "Problematic Phone Usage Questionnaire" and then "Mobile Device Addiction Seminar" was given and the effects were examined quantitatively. Two weeks later, all students' mobile device dependency levels were measured again. As a result of the obtained data, it can be said that mobile device dependency level is high in Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School students. With this training, it has been seen that students have been questioning themselves about the use of conscious telephone and internet. Families and students should be informed about frequent seminars on smartphone use and its impact on success. The awareness of mobile device dependency, internet addiction and their physiological and psychological harm to the guidance courses can be raised to the attention of the students. Locked telephone locker application, which is developed for schools not to distract students from their interests, should be widespread.
