Examination of the relationship between exam anxiety and depression for high school students

The alm of this study is to explan the relationship between text anxiety of highschool students and their depression level. In addition, in this study, the effects of variants such as gender, grade of school, departments, educatinal level of the parents and socio economic conditions on depression have been searched. The study has been carried out 217 volunteer students from private highschools in Sarıyer, İstanbul. 217 volunteer students have compased the paradign of the study. Besides Demographic Information Formhas been used in ander to learn the demographic features of the students and Text Anxiety Scale and Beck Depression Inventory has been weed to varionts "Ki Kare Test, T Test, Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis and Pearson Correlatin Test" have been weed to analyze the results. As a result the research, a meaningful diversity in highschool students depression levels according to gender, hasn't been found out. Besides a diversity on depression levels according to educational condition of the parents hasn't been found out. A diversity hasn't been found out on the depression level of highschool students. The highest mark on the view of the highschool students about text anxiety has become "My family and friends believe that I will be successful" the lawest mark has become "I know that I will be disgraced of I fail" , "A meaningful difference has been found out according to socio economic level of the highschool students. A meaninful diversity in lower dimensions of socio- economic condition variant about the individuals view for text anxiety, concerns about preparations, physical reactions, mental reactions and general text anxiety hasn't been found out. However, an important diversity has been found out in lower dimensions related to others views and concerns about future. The result is that the highschool students have the highest light level of depression. Key words: Text Anxiety, Depression, Highschool Students.
