Türkiye has different fault lines due to its home location. Many major fault lines such as the North Anatolian Fault Line, East Anatolian Fault Line, West Anatolian Fault Line and South Anatolian Fault Line are among the fault lines of Turkey. These fault lines are major fracture lines that create an earthquake risk in almost all of Turkey. The Eastern Anatolian Fault Line is one of Turkey's longest fault lines and extends across Turkey. This fault line is known for 6 major earthquakes since 1983. Some of these are the 2011 Van Earthquake, the 2020 Elazığ Earthquake and the Gaziantep and Kahramanmaraş earthquakes in 2023. The 2011 Van Earthquake, one of the most severe earthquakes on this fault line, caused the death of thousands of people. Liquefaction of the ground or liquefaction of the ground indicates the temporary durability of the layers at the water level, acting as a viscous liquid rather than a solid. Liquefaction is a phenomenon seen in granular soils operating under dynamic loading such as earthquakes. In this thesis, Studies on earthquake damage and ground liquefaction caused by major earthquakes around the world were examined. For example, liquefaction in the 1999 Chi Chi earthquake, one of Taiwan's worst earthquakes, damage caused by lateral spreading in the Hokkaido port of Japan in 1993, lateral spreading in the Most Landing earthquake in California, damage in the Kobe port in 1995, damage in the 1991 Costa Rica earthquake in 1990. The damages caused by the Lausanne earthquake, the damages after the 1994 Northridge earthquake, the damages caused by the 1990 Bakugan Philippines earthquake, the damages caused by the 1993 Guam earthquake, the damages caused by the 1995 Manzanilo Mexico earthquake were examined. The importance of soil liquefaction in our country as a result of major earthquakes was also examined. In this thesis, For example, the ground liquefaction that occurred in Adapazarı during the 1999 Kocaeli earthquake in Turkey, the liquefaction that occurred in Kumluk locality in Çelebibağı town of Erciş in the 2011 Van earthquake, the ground liquefaction that occurred in Yol Üstü and Uzunova villages in Elazığ on February 17, 2023, and the earthquakes of February 6, 2023. Afterwards, the soil liquefaction that occurred in Gölbaşı and Türkoğlu regions of Antakya was examined. In addition, the floors of the houses to be built in Malatya Kuluncak district, which is one of TOKİ's reconstruction works of living spaces after the February 6, 2023 earthquakes, were examined and information about the ground structure was obtained by making RQD evaluation of the samples taken from the ground.
