Abstract (EN)
In this study, the theoretical contribution of the folk tales in the "Anadolu Masalları (1-2)" book recommended by the Ministry of National Education for primary school students is examined. Within the scope of the study, fifteen Anatolian Folk Tales were analyzed, taking into consideration the common problems encountered in primary education programs, and the identified problems were evaluated under four main headings. The study explores the theoretical aspects of the issues presented in Anatolian Folk Tales and discusses potential approaches to solving these problems. The study also investigates the problems individuals face and the methods they employ to solve these problems. Document analysis method and descriptive analysis approach were used in data analysis. The identified tales were summarized, and a detailed content analysis was conducted to identify common problems encountered by individuals. Subsequently, the areas where problems were identified were quoted, and within the framework of the four specified criteria, the tales were interpreted, and an analysis of the problems was carried out. The problems identified in each tale and the values gained through the resolution of these problems were tabulated. It was observed that the Anatolian Folk Tales examined in the study address the problems that individuals frequently encounter throughout their lives and need to resolve. Common problems such as jealousy, cunning, evil, betrayal, and stinginess were found to be prevalent in the tales. According to the research results, it was concluded that folk tales are beneficial in developing individuals' problem-solving skills, and therefore, utilizing folk tales in education is effective in addressing problems. As a result of this study, it is suggested that Anatolian Folk Tales can be used as an educational tool to enhance students' problem-solving abilities.
